1. Overview
At HumanWrite, we want you to be completely satisfied with our service. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds are available for subscription purchases.
2. 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for all new subscriptions:
- If you're not satisfied with the Service within the first 7 days of your initial subscription purchase, you may request a full refund
- This applies to both monthly and yearly subscriptions
- The 7-day period starts from the date of your first payment
- Your account will be downgraded to the Free plan upon refund
3. Refund Eligibility
3.1 Eligible for Refund:
- Within 7 days of initial subscription purchase
- Technical issues: If the Service is unavailable or not functioning as described
- Billing errors: Accidental double charges or incorrect pricing
- Service dissatisfaction: If the Service doesn't meet your expectations (within 7 days only)
3.2 NOT Eligible for Refund:
- After 7 days: Refunds are not available after the 7-day guarantee period
- Subscription renewals: Automatic renewals are not refundable (cancel before renewal date)
- Partial periods: No prorated refunds for partial billing periods
- Account violations: If your account was terminated for violating our Terms of Service
- Changed mind: After the 7-day period, we cannot process refunds for change of mind
- Free tier: The free plan has no costs and is not subject to refunds
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund within the 7-day guarantee period:
- Email us: Send a refund request to refunds@humanwrite.co
- Include:
- Your account email address
- Order/transaction ID (from your payment receipt)
- Reason for the refund request
- Date of purchase
- Response time: We'll review your request within 24-48 business hours
- Processing: Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days
5. Cancellation vs. Refund
Important: Canceling your subscription is different from requesting a refund:
- Cancellation: Stops future charges but does not refund the current period
- Refund: Returns your payment for the current period (within 7 days only)
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Account Settings. When you cancel:
- You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period
- No future charges will occur
- Your account will downgrade to Free when the period ends
6. Refund Processing Time
Once a refund is approved:
- Processing: 1-2 business days to initiate refund
- Credit card: 5-10 business days to appear on your statement
- PayPal: 3-5 business days
- Bank transfer: 7-10 business days
Refund timing depends on your payment method and financial institution.
7. Subscription Downgrades
If you wish to downgrade your plan instead of requesting a refund:
- Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period
- You'll be charged the lower rate on your next renewal
- No refund is provided for the difference in price
- Word limits adjust immediately when the downgrade takes effect
8. Billing Disputes
If you notice an error in your billing:
- Contact us first: Email support@humanwrite.co before disputing with your bank
- We'll investigate: Most billing issues are resolved quickly
- Chargebacks: Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may result in account suspension
9. Exceptions and Special Cases
In exceptional circumstances, we may consider refund requests outside our standard policy:
- Extended service outages affecting multiple users
- Significant changes to service features
- Documented technical issues preventing service use
